BattleTech Field Manual ("the App") is a reference and loadout-building companion app for the BattleTech strategy game. It is developed and published by WayfinderLabs.
This policy explains what data is collected when you use the App, who collects it, and how it is used. We have written it to be direct and readable — not buried in legal filler.
The App itself does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. There is no account system, no login, no backend server, and no analytics pipeline operated by WayfinderLabs.
Loadouts and preferences you create are saved locally on your device using the app's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. As part of ad serving, Google may collect:
— Advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID)
— Device type, OS version, and general device information
— Approximate location (derived from IP address, not GPS)
— Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
This data is collected and processed by Google LLC under their own privacy policy. WayfinderLabs does not receive or store this data directly.

You can opt out of personalised advertising on Android via: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or a US state with applicable privacy law (including California), you will be presented with a consent prompt on first launch of the App.
This prompt is powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) and gives you control over whether personalised advertising is used. If you decline, non-personalised ads may still be shown.
You may withdraw or update your consent at any time by clearing the App's data via your device settings.
WayfinderLabs does not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third party. The only third-party data processor involved in the App's operation is Google AdMob, as described above.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
If this policy changes in a material way, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. We recommend checking this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
